North Carolina city ‘bans’ those weird orange and black-wrapped Halloween candies

The City of High Point, North Carolina takes its Halloween candy seriously.

The city recently posted a message on Facebook that it was “banning” the candy known as Peanut Butter Kisses – most recognizable for their distinctive black and orange wrappings.

“Alright everybody, we’re giving you a one-week notice as you prepare for trick-or-treaters to remind y’all that by order of the City of High Point Emperor of Acceptable Candy (it’s a real thing), these are banned. No one likes them, don’t give them out,” the city wrote on its Facebook page.

The post has been “liked” more than 1,000 times and has garnered more than 350 comments, including some that swear they love the candies.

Fans of the peanut butter kisses seem to be the minority, however, CandyStore.com ranked them as the fifth worst Halloween candy. The bottom 10 were:

1. Circus Peanuts

2. Candy Corn (proving some people have no taste)

3. Wax Cola Bottles

4. Necco Wafers

5. Peanut Butter Kisses

6. Tootsie Rolls

7. Smarties

8. Licorice

9. Good and Plenty

10. Mary Janes
